ALTOONA, PA – Setsucon is proud to announce the inaugural Charity Gaming Tournament, coming to Setsucon 2022 this January 28th-30th, 2022 at the Blair County Convention Center in Altoona, Pennsylvania. Held in partnership with its parent organization, the Penn State Anime Organization, and local Penn State based student organizations, Penn State Altoona Esports, Penn State Smash, Penn State FGC, and Penn State UPark Esports, the Charity Gaming Tournament aims to raise money and awareness for the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), which provides “advocacy, education, support, and public awareness so that individuals and families affected by mental illness can build better lives.”

The Charity Gaming Tournament will take place across the final two days of the convention, with the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Tournament taking place on January 29th, and the Guilty Gear – Strive – Tournament taking place on January 30th. Each tournament costs $15 to enter, with 100% of the tournament fee going to NAMI. All participants will also need to register for the convention as well. Each tournament will be held using standard tournament rules sets and ranked brackets; further information will be available closer to the convention.

Tournament entries are now available at www.smash.gg/setsucon2022. Entries will be accepted online through 9:00pm ET on January 28th. All tournament entry fees will be paid at the convention prior to the start of the tournament.
