8. Fridge Monster (Cowboy Bebop)
Talk about indigestion. In the mostly-comedic "Toys in the Attic" episode, the crew faces off against a mutated lobster biting anyone on the ship it encounters. The monster's bites are venomous and it's pretty resilient against normal weaponry due to its astounding agility. Despite its venture terrorizing the Bebop crew, the scurrying monster proves no match for Ed who finds it rather tasty.
7. Giant Teddy Bear (Akira)
All of Akira is pretty nightmarish, but things get kicked up a notch when protagonist Tetsuo begins hallucinating. In the confines of his hospital room, Tetsuo sees what starts out as a tiny stuffed rabbit and bear climbing up his bed. The toys, who retain child-like voices, then grow to an enormous size and attack, all the while inexplicably bleeding milk out their seams.
6. Evil Comedy (Majin Tantei Nōgami Neuro)
Neuro Nōgami has access to hundreds of demonic tools to help him solve the mysteries that confront him. One of the creepiest to appear in the anime series is Evil Comedy, a hellish insect placed on an individual's face. The bug then becomes a pair of glasses, drilling into their host's face and causing them to hallucinate being trapped in the web of a giant spider covered with other insects. Meanwhile, the victim is compelled to laugh hysterically while surrounding spectators (with the exception of Neuro) can see nothing.
5. No Face (Spirited Away)
No Face is like Jason Voorhees with a budding conscience. He does not speak, instead standing around eerily and wearing an expressionless mask. He develops a fixation on lead character Chihiro and begins devouring all her co-workers to absorb their less-than-admirable traits in hopes of gaining her approval. This proves temporary but before the situation is remedied, No Face turns into a gluttonous blob, eating everyone and everything in sight.
4. Envy's Monster Form (Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood)
Envy is a shapeshifter to begin with, but his monster form is especially frightening. In this form, Envy's strength is no longer inhibited by the confines of his humanoid body, allowing him to crush anything under his feet. He mostly looks like a huge lizard with one particular exception --he's covered in corpses that move at his will. His personality is particularly sadistic and fueled by a genuine hatred for humanity.
3. Demonsaurus (King of Thorn)
Demonsaurs are the insatiable dinosaur-demons that terrorize the ragtag survivors in King of Thorn. They're relentless in their pursuit of prey which they enjoy devouring head first with both mouths. The group manages to take a few down, but it takes a considerable number of bullets to do so. The monsters are adept climbers, swift on four feet, strong beyond reason, and have no issue jumping 20 or so feet in a collapsing building to eat you.
2. Coralians (Eureka Seven)
An infinitely wise and sentient form of life, the coralians are also capable of destruction on a massive scale when provoked. The floating "antibodies" are all equipped with at least one unblinking eye that stares into its victims before killing them. Their massacre is short, but effective, as antibody coralians are racing against the clock from the moment they're conceived. The destruction and mass hysteria they manage to cause in that short time frame is nothing to scoff at.
1. Human-Fish Hybrid (Gyo)
In all its camp glory, Gyo presents a truly disgusting monster in its infected human-fish hybrids. Their appearance is reminiscent of Tom Six's The Human Centipede. Running on the gases produced by their own rotting corpses, the human body fuses with an invertebrate, carrying them around on it's spiked, spindly legs. Those that are injured are infected by the gas-travelling virus and slowly bloat before becoming a hybrid themselves. They stink to high heaven and are more or less brain dead but that doesn't stop them from swarming, stabbing, and destroying a good part of Tokyo's population.
