Madman Acquires ICSUSA and Tokyo Tribe;

On the 11th Day of Christmas Madman Entertainment announced ISUCA and the live-action Tokyo Tribe film for 2015;

Madman's ISUCA acquisition announcement comes from Madman's Facebook page. The announcement states ISUCA will start streaming in January 2015 with home video release plans to be announced in the future. ISUCA will likely be streaming on Madman Entertainment's streaming service, AnimeLab. At this stage Madman Entertainment are the first company in the west to announce acquisition of ISUCA.

This news follows on from the 10th day announcement of the live-action Tokyo Tribe film which will be released to home video in April 2015.

ISUCA

When Shinichirō Asano applies to work for the Shimazu family as a housekeeper to make ends meet, he never thought he would have such a ill-mannered, selfish yet beautiful boss as Sakaya Shimazu. Yet when Asano accidentally releases a strange creature into the world it's Sakaya that comes to his rescue as the 37th head of the Shimazu family, a group that hunts and seals these creatures with spirit archery. Fortunately Asano seems to be developing some supernatural skills of his own which will be handy to keep up with Sakaya's demanding ways.

Based on the manga of the same name by Osamu Takahashi, the series began serialisation in Kadokawa Shoten's Young Ace magazine since July 2009. The series has been collected into five volumes to date with the latest volume released in June 2014.

ISUCA's cast includes Ibuki Kido (Tokyo ESP) as Sakuya Shimazu, Keisuke Koumoto (Tokyo ESP) as Shinichirō Asano, M.A.O (Ai: Tenchi Muyo!, World Conquest Zvezda Plot) as Suseri Shimazu and Kaori Sadohara (Inari Kon Kon, Date A Live) as Tamako.

Akira Iwanaga (Tegami Bachi: Letter Bee) will direct the anime at ARMS (Himawari!, Ikki Tousen: Dragon Destiny) with series composition by Masashi Suzuki (Kanokon: The Girl Who Cried Fox, The Sacred Blacksmith). Idol group Afilia Saga (My mental choices are completely interfering with my school romantic comedy, Hyperdimension Neptunia) will perform the theme song and TWO-FORMULA will perform the ending theme.

Madman Entertainment will be streaming ISUCA in January 2015 with home video release plans to be announced in the future. ISUCA will likely be streaming on Madman Entertainment's streaming service, AnimeLab. At the time of writing this article Madman Entertainment are the first company in the west to announce acquisition of ISUCA.

Tokyo Tribe

Tokyo Tribe follows the struggles of street gangs in a near-future version of Tokyo. The movie stars Ryohei Suzuki (HK/Hentai Kamen) as Bukuro Wu-Ronz gang leader Mera and hip-hop artist YOUNG DAIS as Kai in the rival gang Musashino Saru. Director and writer Shion Sono (Suicide Club, Himizu, All Esper Dayo!) selected DAIS from the film's open auditions on YouTube. Japanese-American hip-hop artist and singer AI performs the theme song "HOPE -TOKYO TRIBE ANTHEM" with fellow artists YOUNG DAIS, SIMON, and Y'S. You can view the full cast here.

Tokyo Tribe premiered in Japanese theaters on the 30th of August 2014 and the opening weekend brought the film to #12 on Box Office Mojo's chart, earning earned 41,888,487 yen (AUD$430,400). In it's third weekend Tokyo Tribe had fell to #14 earning 12,587,547 yen (US$129,335) on 118 screens for a new total of 144,321,636 yen (AUD$1,482,892).

XYZ Films is representing the film internationally. The film made its international premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival last month. The film premiered in Los Angeles on October 4 with Santa Inoue, actor Akihiro Kitamura, and actress Hitomi Katayama in attendance and the film premiered in London on the 9th of October as part of the London Film Festival.

Madhouse adapted the same manga series into the 13-episode Tokyo Tribe 2 television anime series in 2006. The original manga has a total of 2.5 million copies in print. Tokyopop published six of 12 volumes under the name Tokyo Tribes in North America. Inoue ended his Tokyo Tribe 3 sequel manga in 2012.

Madman Entertainment will release Tokyo Tribe to home video in April 2015.
