The first one is terribly out of print. It was going for $60 used on Amazon a few months ago, but has since come down to be in the $20s for "Acceptable," which is not something I would really want for a collector-type book. It would be nice if Viz could reprint it since this just came out. I messaged them on Twitter about it, but of course they didn't respond -- rarely ever answer any serious questions but always will go crazy over their Naruto and Bleach fanspasms.

Someone else, please poke them. I'm sure I'm not the only one wanting to get a copy of it. If they reprint the first one, I'll grab this one as well (and the rest if they ever care to catch up on them) Very Happy Have always been a fan of Oda's art.

If you don't mind having it all in Japanese and just want the art, you can find new Japanese copies of the first book for about $18 at Japanese bookstores. That's how I got mine.

Yeah, I was going to mention that it was actually cheaper to get the imported version ~_~

If Viz doesn't ever get around to the reprint, I imagine I'll be doing that.

I have been holding off on OP for a little while. So thanks for that extra bit of info.

I'm pretty sure I'm up to date with the Viz OP volumes and I don't recall Zolo missing an eye, so my reaction to the info was "-_-...thanks (not)"

Sorry, ss-hikaru, if you felt I spoiled something. Since ANN had previously posted an image of the redesigned characters, I felt it was safe to mention.

I messaged the series editor for One Piece on Twitter and he didn't address a possible reprinting of the 1st Color Walk. I took his silence to mean "nope, it's out of print forever". He did mention that this 2nd Color Walk will probably not be reprinted. So if you want to own it, don't wait around for a reprinting of the 1st book that looks highly unlikely to happen.

Oh.....I just got into One Piece, so I happily clicked the review for the artbook. I've been avoiding spoilers for the series, not clicking on articles dealing with it, etc. But I thought, surely an artbook review would be ok for me to read. Looks like I now know that spoiler[Zolo looses an eye.] Sigh...

It happens during spoiler[the 2 year time skip] in volume 62. Viz has published up to volume 63 via Viz Manga, for whatever info that's worth. Oh, and 64 volumes have been published in Japan so far. I think 65 is around the corner.

I was being sarcastic. I have stayed away from any area that covers the current story in OP. I didn't think a review of a book from 2003 would mention a spoiler on a recent event.

Yes, but only 60 volumes are out in print, book form. So for those of us that only read the US physical copies, we didn't know about this.

If it's any consolation, spoiler[Zoro losing his eye] isn't really a plot point or anything. It's pretty much just to make him look cooler/different. We don't even know how it happened.

That is EXACTLY what Shonen Jump's fan letters devolved into.

I saw three copies of Color Walk 2 at my local Barnes & Noble. Have the first one, so I'll definitely be picking it up. I'm still hoping to see a proper review of the recent One Piece volumes at ANN.

I like how the review likes to mentions Zoro's 4kids name, Zolo. Made me think back on how much I actually preferred his 4kids VA over Chris Sabat. That's right, I went there. That aside, I do agree that Nami's chest has expanded at a disturbing rate. More so after Sky Island when the animation changed in the anime (and the series went widescreen). I'm not sure if the transition happened at the same point in the manga (as I only read the first few chapters) but it only got worst from there.

It shouldn't come as a shock that art books are often rare shortly about their releases. I always say if you want one, buy it now or never.
