Nisekoi Manga Takes 1-Week Break Due to Author's Sudden Illness

posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda

A notice from the editorial department that Shueisha will publish in the 33rd issue of Weekly Shonen Jump on Monday will reveal that Naoshi Komi's Nisekoi - False Love manga will not appear in the issue due to the author's sudden illness. The editorial department apologized to readers who were looking forward to reading the new chapter.

Additionally, the editorial department noted that the postcard included with the magazine for the weekly survey still lists Nisekoi - False Love as being published in the issue because, but due to the publishing schedule, the staff couldn't remove the listing in time. The staff apologized for the error.

The notice added that the manga will return in the 34th issue on July 18.

Nisekoi - False Love revolves around Raku Ichijō, a normal high school student who happens to be the heir to a yakuza group. The attractive but violent transfer student Chitoge Kirisaki, the heir to a rival yakuza group, transfers to his class, and the two must pretend to date to keep a war from breaking out between their families.

Komi launched Nisekoi - False Love in Weekly Shonen Jump in 2011, and Viz Media is releasing the manga digitally and in print in North America. Aniplex of America released the first anime season on Blu-ray Disc in November last year, and Crunchyroll streamed the first anime season as it aired in Japan.

The second anime season premiered in Japan on April 10. Aniplex of America streamed the anime on the Aniplex Channel, Crunchyroll, Hulu, and Daisuki services as it aired.
