Comic Market 93 Attracts 550,000 Attendees Across 3 Days

posted on by Crystalyn Hodgkins

The Comic Market 93 (Comiket 93) event in Tokyo drew approximately 210,000 attendees on its third day on Sunday, for a total across all three days of 550,000 attendees.

Comiket does not have unique passes for visitors, so a person who attends all three days would be counted three times.

Total attendance was up from this summer's Comiket 92 event, which drew 500,000 attendees, and was the same as last December's Comiket 91 event with 550,000 attendees.

Comiket 84 set both a summer and an overall record in 2013 with 590,000 attendees. Comiket 87 in 2014 holds the record for a winter Comiket attendance with 560,000 attendees.

Comiket 93 drew around 180,000 attendees on its first day, and around 160,000 attendees on its second day.

First-day attendance was up from Comiket 91's count of 170,000 attendees last December. Attendance was also up from this summer's Comiket 92 first-day count, which numbered 160,000. Second-day attendance was down compared to Comiket 91's second-day count last December of 170,000, but was up from Comiket 92's second-day count of roughly 150,000.

Comiket 94 will be held on August 10-12.
