Ring Horror Films' Sadako Gets Baseball Card

The Ring horror films' character Sadako will appear in the "2012 BBM Baseball Cards 2nd Version" card collection this summer. According to the Cinema Today website, this will be the first time that a horror film character has been added to this type of trading card lineup. The baseball card collection is slated to ship in Japan in early August.
A real-life version of the ghost girl threw the opening pitch at a baseball game between the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters and Chiba Lotte Marines teams on April 25. The publisher Baseball Magazine Sha (BBM) usually features baseball players in its card collections, but the company has also included ceremonial first pitchers such as Aya Ueto, Maomi Yūki, and Aki Hoshino in the past.
The Sadako 3D live-action film opened in Japan on May 12. Other promotional campaigns included a throng of real-life Sadakos, Sadako 3D x Hello Kitty crossover items, and Sgt. Frog "Sadako Keroro" mascot trinkets. Sadako also transformed into an anime cat to teach theater manners and appeared in the Kayoe! Chūgaku series of television anime shorts.
