WOTA London Music Event on Saturday

posted on by Andrew Osmond
From 8 p.m. at Bloomsbury Bowling Lanes

The club WOTA London's next event is on Saturday September 15 at the Bloomsbury Bowling Lanes, near Russell Square tube station (scroll down the facebook page for a map and directions). Since 2009, WOTA London has been playing anime songs on the dancefloor, along with Sentai, Tokusatu and Seiyuu songs and many others.

The September event runs from 8 p.m. until 3 a.m. and will feature live DJs, dance performances from the Maids of England Maid cafe, and medleys from the "dance idol" unit DotDot3, which specialises in K-pop and J-idol dance covers.

The entry fee is £4, and entry is restricted to over-18s.

"Wota" (ヲタ - pronounced ota) is a shortened version of the Japanese word "otaku," and refers to idol-otaku. It is also often used in conjunction with a particular area of interest, for example anime fans are referred to as "anime-wota."
