Siren Visual licenses Nodame Cantabile for Australian Release

Siren Visual posted the news on Facebook stating they are "very pleased to announce" an Australian release of Nodame Cantabile on DVD in early 2015.
Siren Visual confirmed to Anime News Network that their release of Nodame Cantabile will be the same as the original Hong Kong release including all 23 episodes and both the original Japanese audio with English subtitles and the English dub. We have yet to confirm if the release will include the OVA episodes for the series.
Siren Visual's Australian announcement of Nodame Cantabile on home video was confirmed to be the first in English countries, including North America and the United Kingdom.

Shinichi Chiaki a top-notch pianist and violinist, can speak multiple languages and is the top student at the Momogaoka College of Music but his talents are only matched by his arrogance and his inability to leave Japan due to a fear of flying. These two problems stand directly in front of Chiaki's dream of becoming a conductor, and then we have his third problem, Megumi "Nodame" Noda. Nodame's a eccentric Force Of Nature who can barely function in modern life and (much to Chiaki's aggravation) has incredible skill on the piano but she refuses to follow the musical score, instead preferring to play by sound. And now that Nodame has realised that Chiaki lives next door, Chiaki can't get the love struck pianist out of his face. But that slight aggravation might be for the best to further both Chiaki and Nodame's lives and love of music.
Based on Tomoko Ninomiya's original manga of the same name, Nodame Cantabile, aired from Jan 2007 on Fuji-TV as part of the Noitamina block where is broke the late night record for viewership in the block. The series was animated at J.C. Staff and directed by Kenichi Kasai (Honey & Clover, Bakuman) with series composition being handled by Tomoko Konparu (Chi's Sweet Home, NANA) and character designs by Shuichi Shimamura (Saber Marionette J, Chaos;HEAd).
Nodame Cantabile has no shortage of talent with award winning art director Shichirō Kobayashi (Lupin III: The Castle of Cagliostro, Revolutionary Girl Utena) working on the show and director of Revolutionary Girl Utena and Penguindrum, Kunihiko Ikuhara, responsible for storyboarding and directing the opening animation.
The original Japanese cast includes Ayako Kawasumi as Megumi "Nodame" Noda and Tomokazu Seki as Shinichi Chiaki alongside Shinji Ogawa as Franz von Stresemann, Sanae Kobayashi as Kiyora Miki and Shinji Kawada as Ryuutarou Mine.
The English dub cast's ADR direction was handled by Robert Buchholz with Doug Erholtz voicing Chiaki, Kate David as Nodame, Terrance Stone as Franz von Stresemann, Colleen O'Shaughnessey as Kiyora Miki and Grant George as Ryutaro Mine.
The English dub was broadcast in 2009 over ANIMAX-Asia and can be currently seen in North America through the Crackle online service (check it out here). The series has been translated into Korean, Spanish and Portugese and licensed in Hong Kong.
Nodame Cantabile was originally created by Tomoko Ninomuya for Kodansha's Kiss magazine from 2001 after Ninomuya was inspired having seen a photo of a music student's messy bedroom on a website Ninomuya managed, Nodame was named after the student who later went onto compose and co-write the fart song heard in the first episode of the anime series. The manga series finished in 2009 as was collected into 23 volumes, followed by a two volume sequel called Nodame Cantabile: Opera Chapter.
The series has been adapted into a live-action drama including it's own specials and two movie sequels, three season anime series, several soundtracks and video games and earlier this year was adapted for Korean television under the title Cantabile Tomorrow.
The two sequel anime series, Nodame Cantabile: Paris and Nodame Cantabile: Finale were originally aired in 2008 and 2010 respectively.
