Release will feature no blurring; current DVD owners will be able to upgrade to BD

North American anime distributor Media Blasters announced on Tuesday that it will release the Yami to Bōshi to Hon no Tabibito (Yamibō) anime on Blu-ray Disc, although it did not provide a release date.

Media Blasters released the anime on DVD on March 31, but the release contained the censorship blurring present in the anime's TV broadcast version, which is not present in the Japanese Blu-ray Disc release. Media Blasters said was able to acquire this new version. Media Blasters will announce a program where those who have purchased the DVD can upgrade their purchase to the future Blu-ray Disc release.

The company also stated that it cannot create an English language dub for the series as it has not acquired the separate music and effects track for the anime.

avex entertainment released the Blu-ray Disc box set of the series in Japan in March 2013.

The 13-episode series originally aired in 2003. The series is based on Root's adult visual novel of the same name and revolves around a girl named Eve, who is a caretaker of the Great Library, which contains all the worlds in the universe within books. Each episode in the series details one of Eve's lives in one of the worlds and follows a group of people as they try to find her. Yuji Yamaguchi (Fate/stay night, Strawberry Eggs) directed the series at Studio DEEN and Tomomi Mochizuki (Twin Spica, Rozen Maiden) handled the series composition.
