Tsuchii's Noble Witches Manga Ends

posted on by Crystalyn Hodgkins
Manga adaptation of Strike Witches spinoff novel series launched in May 2017

The November issue of Kadokawa's Monthly Comp Ace magazine published the final chapter on Wednesday of Tsuchii's manga adaptation of the Noble Witches spinoff novel series.

Tsuchii launched the manga in May 2017 under the title Noble Witches: Dai 506 Tōgō Sentō Kōkūdan (Noble Witches: 506th Joint Fighter Wing). The manga's third compiled volume will ship on October 26.

Tsuchii previously drew the Strike Witches Erica Hartmann 1941 and Girls und Panzer: Little Army manga.

Noble Witches is a spinoff to the Strike Witches anime franchise, and it focuses on the members of the 506th Joint Fighter Wing, also known as the "Noble Witches."

Kadokawa published the first Noble Witches novel volume in January 2015 and the eighth volume on May 1. Hidehisa Nanbō writes the series and franchise creator Humikane Shimada provides the illustrations.

The Strike Witches franchise adapts Humikane Shimada's mecha-girl illustrations. In the series' world, the alien Neuroi are invading Earth, and governments develop "striker units" that allow girls with magical powers to fight the Neuroi. The Strike Witches anime focuses on the 501st Joint Fighter Wing while the Brave Witches spinoff anime, which premiered in 2016, focuses on the 502nd Joint Fighter Wing.

The Strike Witches franchise recently revealed three new anime projects. First, Makoto Fujibayashi's Strike Witches 501 Butai Hasshinshimasu! (Strike Witches 501st Unit, Taking Off!) manga will get an anime adaptation that will stream online in 2019. The new Strike Witches: Road to Berlin TV anime will then premiere in 2020, and the new Idol Witches (temporary title) TV anime will premiere in 2021.
