Haruka: Beyond the Stream of Time 6 Manga Ends in January

Tohko Mizuno's manga adaptation of game launched in 2015

The January 2019 issue of Kodansha's Shonen Magazine Edge revealed on Monday that Tohko Mizuno's Harukanaru Toki no Naka de 6 (Haruka: Beyond the Stream of Time 6) manga will end in the magazine's next issue on January 17.

The magazine revealed in October that the manga was approaching its climax.

The manga adapts the game of the same name, and centers on heroine Azusa Takatsuka. Azusa is high school girl who one day finds herself in a world that appears very similar to Japan's Taisho period. She quickly runs into trouble, but is saved by a man named Darius, who calls himself a "demon." The game shipped in Japan for the PlayStation Vita and PlayStation Portable in March 2015. A new version of the game for the Nintendo Switch will ship on March 14.

Mizuno, the character designer for the game series, launched the manga in Kodansha's ARIA magazine in 2015, and moved it to Shonen Magazine Edge on July 17 after ARIA ceased publication on April 28. Kodansha published the manga's sixth compiled book volume on August 7.

KOEI's Harukanaru Toki no Naka de romance adventure game franchise has inspired a number of game follow-ups, original video anime, and manga. The 2004-2005 television anime Haruka: Beyond the Stream of Time – A Tale of the Eight Guardians is based on the first PlayStation game. Bandai Entertainment previously released the television anime in North America, and the anime is now streaming on Tubi TV.
