posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda
Talent management agency Production baobab announced on Friday that voice actress Hisako Kanemoto has returned to Japan on the same day, after nine months of study abroad. Kanemoto has been on hiatus from her voice acting career since last May.
During her hiatus, Yumiri Hanamori replaced her in the role of Nao Mejiro in the Pastel Memories anime, and Asami Seto replaced her in the role of Tsubasa Sumisora for the B-PROJECT: Zecchō Emotion anime. However, the BanG Dream! Girls Band Party! smartphone game did not recast Kanemoto's role as Tsugumi Hazawa.
Kanemoto made her debut in anime in the Sound of the Sky series in 2010, playing protagonist Kanata Sorami. She has also voiced roles in such anime as Squid Girl (Ika Musume), Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans (Atra Mixta), Food Wars! The Third Plate (Erina Nakiri, replacing Risa Taneda from the previous two series), Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Crystal (Ami Mizuno/Sailor Mercury), The Seven Deadly Sins (Veronica), Strike the Blood (Natsuki Minamiya), Assassination Classroom (Hinano Kurahashi), Durarara!! (Kuri Orihara), Sword Oratoria: Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? On the Side (Filvis Challia), and Girls und Panzer (Hoshino), among others.
