He may not have been a household name compared to his various contemporaries, but he did have some memorable characters over his long, long career, Tom of One Piece being the most notable. Also he was one of three or four performers who played General Revil in the original Mobile Suit Gundam and its compilation films. RIP, old sir. Hope you can look back and say, “Not a bad job.”
