Tekken: Blood Vengeance Film Honored at 2nd Annual 3D Awards

The Japanese Committee of the International 3D Society honored the Tekken: Blood Vengeance, Always: Sunset on Third Street '64, Kaibutsu-kun, and Sadako 3D films in the second annual "International 3D Awards Lumiere Japan" on Thursday. The awards recognize exceptional works in various categories such as film, television, documentaries, and advertising.
All four films won the Movie Award at this year's ceremonies. Yōichi Mōri's Tekken: Blood Vengeance film premiered in select American theaters in July 2011, and then the film opened in August 2011 in Japan. Tsutomu Hanabusa's live-action horror film Sadako 3D opened in Japan in May, and featured a new story by original novelist Koji Suzuki.
Always: Sunset on Third Street '64 is the third live-action film based on Ryohei Saigan's nostalgic San-chōme no Yūhi - Yūyake no Uta manga directed by Takashi Yamazaki (live-action Space Battleship Yamato, Returner, Ballad). The film opened in Japan in January.
Eiga Kaibutsu-kun, the 3D live-action film adaptation of Fujiko Fujio A's Kaibutsu-kun supernatural action manga starring Arashi band member Satoshi Ohno, opened in Japan in November 2011. The film held its American premiere at the AM2 convention in June.
Sony's A3D II Ayumi Hamasaki Rock'n'Roll Circus Tour FINAL ~7days Special~ film was also honored with a Movie Award at this year's ceremonies.
Last year Ghost in the Shell S.A.C. Solid State Society 3D, Hipira: The Little Vampire, and Final Fantasy XIII won awards.
